Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless Razor Blades

Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless Razor Blades

There are 3 versions of the Gillette 7 O’Clock razor blades.  You can tell the difference because they come in different color packages – there’s a green pack, a yellow pack and a black pack.  This review is for green pack of Gillette 7 O’Clock – the most common type.

The Gillette 7 O’Clock green pack razor blades are made in India.  When I shaved my face this morning, these felt sharper and smoother than the Derbys.  That being said, unlike the Derbys, these blades are not tolerant of bad technique or poor pre-shave preparation.  It’s best to use these blades after a hot shower so your skin is supple and you’ll need to pay extra attention to working up a nice lather.  If you’re in a rush, using the 7 O’Clocks is probably not a wise decision.  Also, excessive pressure or running the blade across your face at the wrong angle will likely lead to irritation, nicks, and cuts.

A year’s supply (100 blades) is $18.99, which is a really great value.  I get around 3 good shaves with each blade.  For comparison, I get 2 good shaves with a Derby and 3-4 good shaves with a Feather.

Price Per Blade
$0.19

Overall
If you have time on your side, the Gillette 7 O’Clocks will give you a comfortable, smooth shaving experience.  If you’re in a rush, then they’ll feel like your using a lawnmower on your face.  They’re very intolerant of poor technique or lack of pre-shave preparation.

This review about sums it up. You can tell that these blades are sharper than Derby’s and Crystal–and Personna Red Pack…but as the other review correctly points out there is little margin for error–preparation of skin is Key and dont be in a rush….sharper than the blades listed, but less forgiving to poor technique as well. Lastly, these blades are made in st Petersburg Russia and not India

Actually, there are 5 versions of these blades. Black Super Platinum, Blue Super Platinum, Yellow SharpEdge, Green Super Stainless and Green Permasharp Stainless. The Green Super Stainless blades reviewed here are actually made in Russia, as are the Yellow SharpEdge and Blue Super Platinum. The Green Permasharp and the Black Super Platinum are made in India.

BTW, these are all great blades.

good prepertion along with shaving with care and not fighting with your face is always the right thing to do but i gotta tell I have a very thin and sensitive skin I heard people brag about other brands but I decided to settle down with this brand I guess russians have skin type as mine who knows

I agree with the reviews of these 7O Clock blades. For the price and the fact that they are very aarp initially, three shaves is about all you can expect which is still a great value. I use very aggressive razors and find they last somewhat longer especially on my Merkur slant razor which uses a shearing action rather than a scraping motion against the face. I dry off the blade and remove it from the shaver every day and rotate end for end for even wear daily for 2 blades a week.
