Feather Razor Blades

Feather Razor Blades

The Feather razor blades are made in Japan and are known for their exceptional sharpness.  They’re made out of stainless steel and the surface is coated with a thin layer of platinum.  The platinum helps prevent corrosion (rusting) which is one of the primary causes of razor blade dullness.

Now, normally, a really sharp razor blade is a good thing.  The downside of an exceptionally sharp blade, however, is that without proper pre-shave preparation, it’s really easy to give yourself nicks and cuts.  If you take the time to make sure your skin is well moisturized (ideally you should shave after taking a hot shower) and have proper lubrication (a quality lather), then the Feathers will provide you the smoothest shave of your life.  If you’re short on time, however, it’s probably best to use another blade.

A year’s supply (100 blades) is $47.99, which is pretty expensive compared to other blades.  That being said, with most other blades, I get only 2 nice shaves, but with a Feather, I can get 3-4.  So even though the price per blade is high, the cost per shave is actually pretty reasonable.

Price Per Blade
$0.46

Overall
The Feather razor blades give me the smoothest shave I have ever experienced, but they’re not a good choice if you’re short on time.
